How to register for the telc exam

You register directly with the centre you choose — through the form on its website or by email. There is no central registration for all of Poland. The rules at the centres we checked are similar:

• Your place is booked only once you pay. Usually you have 2–3 days after registering, or after the email with payment details; without payment the registration lapses.
• Registration usually closes 2–4 weeks before the exam, or earlier if places run out.
• Cancellation depends on the centre. Some centres refund all or part of the fee if you cancel early enough (most often up to about 18–21 working days before the exam). At many centres the fee is non-refundable.

How much the telc Polish exam costs and what's included

At the centres we checked: 690–1,999 zł, most often 950–1,150 zł. The difference comes from what the centre adds to the exam itself:

• some centres include a short course, webinar or preparation class;
• an individual exam (on a date you choose) costs noticeably more than a group one;
• some schools charge less for their own students.

For comparison, the Polish state exam at B1 or B2 costs about 740–750 zł in 2026, including the certificate fee — details below.

The state exam — sessions and fees

The state exam runs in a few sessions a year, on the same days all over Poland. Next sessions for adults (2026, 2027):

Fees.
In 2026 the B1 or B2 exam costs about 635–655 zł, and issuing the certificate about 87 zł (about 740–750 zł in total). The centre sets the amount, and it can shift a little from month to month because the legal cap follows the euro rate.
From 1 January 2027 the certificate costs 100 zł, and the B1/B2 exam fee may not exceed 7% of the average wage in Q3 2026 — the amount in złoty will be known once GUS publishes that figure (fees; act, Dz.U. 2026 poz. 676).

Which certificate you need — for EU long-term residence, studies or citizenship — is explained on telc or the state exam.
